SJ Unplugged
A pop-culture diary — reviews, essays, and notes on the stories I keep coming back to.
Welcome to SJ Unplugged. This is where I write about anime, manga, novels, movies, and series — the kind of stuff I’d normally ramble about after finishing something good (or bad). Think of it as a second read: not just whether something is worth your time, but why it stuck with me.
What you’ll find here
- Reviews — scored write-ups out of 10. These cover a specific title or season and include a rating on the card and article page.
- Essays — longer pieces on a theme, character, or idea from a book, show, or film. No score — just the argument.
- News — short updates and announcements when something is worth flagging quickly.
Every post is also tagged with a category for the kind of media it’s about — movie, manga, series, anime, novel, or general. That category drives the accent color on cards and entry pages.
How to navigate
- FEED — the homepage. Your three newest posts show up as featured cards; everything else lands in the recent list below.
- ESSAYS — every essay, regardless of whether it’s about a novel, anime, or something else.
- BROWSE — the full archive, reviews and essays together, newest first.
- Category pages — filter by media, e.g. series, novels, anime. These aren’t in the top nav yet, but the URLs work if you want to bookmark one.
Click any row or card to open the full entry. Reviews show a score; essays and news don’t. Use the theme toggle in the title bar (☾) if you prefer dark mode.
